Teej is a hindu festival and is marked by fasting of women and girls who pray to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati to seek blessings for their marital bliss. The festival takes place during the Shrawan or Bhadra . Teej is also known as haritalika teej and refers to monsoon festival that is observed particularly in Nepal. The festival includes dancing, singing, getting together and dressing up very well. Married women go to their parents home so called maitghar to celebrate teen.
